I too have heard the tale about Jack Happi. He was supposed to have been some kind of playboy type guy in the late 1800's who gambled a lot and loved women. My grand dad told me that Jack Happi was found early one Sunday morning by the side of the road.
There was a big bloody gap where his nose once was. His walking cane was bloody and lying next to him. Because there was a steel wolf head on the handle it was always assumed it had something to do with the death of Jack Happi.
I have never put a lot of stock in ghost stories but that's the way I heard it.|

Lisa that ghost that you are calling ''happy jack'' is a story that has been around for many years. The only thing is he is actually called ''jack happi. '' he was suppose to have been a drifter or kind of a bum that was always looking for some kind of a hand-out to make it in life.
He followed women around other than guys because he knew they would have pity on him and give him a dollar or some change so that he would leave. I have no idea how he got killed but have serious doubts about him being handsome.
I have never seen this spook or spirit and would have to see it for myself in order to believe that he actually exists. Just thought you might want some info on the story.
