Altus, Oklahoma Ghost Tales | |
|
In about the summer of 1992, I was sitting here in my office along with my 2 faithful dogs. Late in the evening, I went out onto the front to have a smoke when shortly thereafter, my neighbors living across the street from me, came running outside. The only thing the man had on, was a scared look and nothing more. He is a dark colored Latin fella and I swear he had turned white in color. He turned back around, ran back into his home, gathered up his wife and son, then it was back out the door they went. His wife was real upset and wanted to know, what had gotten into her husband. He stated, that he had awakened having a feeling that someone was watching him. He opened up his eyes and looked towards the doorway. There he stated was a white shadow of a little girl, looking right at him. Then a few short seconds later, she disappeared. They had spent the remainder of the evening in town where upon the following day, they gathered up all of their belongings and moved out. Submitted by Ted Categories: home,

Right by Altus their is the small town of Blair. Before I moved to Altus when I was 4 we lived in Blair. We lived in a house right across from the little day care. There was a car that crashed right outside of my room when I was little. And one of the men were killed. A couple days after the crash, I woke up in the middle of

the night. I was facing towards my door and saw this Black figure. He was pitch black. You could see the shape of his coat and his hat. All you could see was white eyes and teeth. Like plain white. Snow white. My dad says it's the ghost of the passenger that was killed in the crash. Submitted by Ashley Categories: man, cars_accident
My aunts grandfather died in 2006? and then a year later his wife died of old-timers . So her father put his house up for sale. It was bought it and redecorated for almost three years then the summer of 2008 a new family moved in. And at night they heard the kitchen door slamming and a orange figure sloshing through the hall. And the son saw my aunts grandfather standing there smoking a cigar. Submitted by Lyndsey Categories: home, man
Cypress street is in one of the older sections of the fair city of Altus, Oklahoma. It has beautiful well cared for older homes, and old fashioned street lights that add extra charm

to the street. When the month of October arrives and there is rain or fog in the city a ghost can be seen on Cypress street late at night. The ghost is of a man wearing a black trench coat, walking a large black dog on a leash, and you are unable to see the face of the man. He is always seen walking westward and stops under the same street light for about four minutes before vanishing into thin air. This ghostly figure of a man is always smoking a cigarette that can be seen in spite of the fact you cannot see his face. To the older people in Altus he is fondly known as ''The Dogwalker,'' and is thought to be the ghost of a doctor who made house calls many years ago. This nonthreatening ghostly figure is always spoken of in a gentle tone of voice as if in admiration of who he once was. Submitted by anonymous
