Anadarko, Oklahoma Ghost Tales | |
|
|
At around 2 am. on a cool october near full moon morning while sleeping warmly in my warm farm house bed I was awoken by the sounds of coyote, screaming their come one come all feeding call. So near the house, it seemed they were at my window. As I got up to see the producers of these hair raising screams of prey found, I pulled back the blind to peer outside in the moonlit night. Suddenly, peering back at me in the window was an elderly woman in a night robe with grey hair and wide eyes. Other than being startled I first thought it to be a tresspasser out far from town maybe lost or mentally disturbed,

until with a wider full window veiw I noticed she was hovering with no lower torso. Falling back I awakened my wife and while telling her in disbelief of my observation we both gazed in silence as the

aborition retreated across the field and over the lake in a slow floating retreat from our view. After researching the history of our farm it was discovered that a woman had committed suicide or possibly was murdered in the basement of our house, which was built in 1979 for her and she died in 1980 never having really setting up residency in her home . Still, un-resolved occurences happen during cool fall nights and evenings such as the basement door opening by itself, and window blinds opening, even though spring loaded, by themselves. My daughter says her cat can see the Ghost of old lady Hudson.

When alone in her room at night the cat will un-nervingly sit up and follow a un-seeable force with her head, and arch her back as if being attacked by some unknown danger. We have since added on to the
house and planted a vineyard. We feel it is in approval that on those cool october windless nights that we observe in accepting recognition as she swings on the front porch swing which moves back and
forth looking out toward the vineyard with no apparent occupant or cause for its melodic rhythmic movement. Submitted by David Roberts
