Bethel, Oklahoma Ghost Tales Me my dear brother Jeff was just this side of Mary Highway down by glover crossin camping down there close to the river.  We had put in a couple sticks of wood in the fire when we heard this howling noise.  It sounded like a scream of a woman.  Concerned we walked towards the sound and we heard the bushes rattling like some critter was in there.  From behind a pine tree a ghostly creature stepped out.  It was an old Indian spirit.  The spirit looked at us and screamed and flew into the distance.  All we could do was shake our heads in disbelief but now I do tell ya that ghost do exist. The ghosts of this settlement don’t leave anyone   unfrightened. Not everybody trusts in the descriptions the local residents tell, but the ghosts of Bethel are out tonight looking for a person to terrify. The ghost of a mailman has supposedly been perceived on a small number of instances viewing the landscape from the highest spot of High Peak very late at night. A guy's body having the head of a raccoon may repeatedly be perceived searching through trash container on a Bethel street.
