Bison, Oklahoma Ghost Tales My ancestors settled in this area from Czech. Before they left their homeland their hired a soothsayer to tell them something of their future.  She told them she saw a coffin, half closed, with a rope wrapped around it, trying to secure whatever was inside. Several years later, after they had settled near Bison, a great aunt of mine died in child birth.  It was hot and the body lay several days before they were able to make a coffin and bury her.  In the meantime her body swelled to great girth.  They had to wrap the coffin with a rope to hold her body inside. Submitted by ed Skark Bison, Oklahoma is just a normal place while the sun is up, but only some of the inhabitants of this settlement are really alive. Things go on in this town that can't be given an explanation. Skeptics don't believe in the local ghost stories, but the ghosts of Bison are out tonight trying to locate somebody to frighten. These are some of the spooky things that have happened here recently. A lady on fire, grasping a petroleum bottle       has once in a while been made out guzzling water from Buffalo Springs at midnight. Locals argue that this ghost is that of a resident who had a house here in Bison a long time ago. The phantom of a young air force pilot is once in a while made out around midnight floating along Buffalo Creek.
