I was a little girl when I lived on Dakota St and had my first encounter. Back then we slept with the doors and windows open during the spring. I wanted to sleep on our new couch and looked out the front door to see a shadow of an elderly woman. She told me come here little girl before I kill you. I was so frightened I passed out. Years later I asked my mother if she remembered what I told her and she replied by saying that my step father had seen her in the hallway.

Most ''sightings'' in Chickasha seem to be this towns dilapidated housing having electrical plumbing or structural issues. But let me shed some light on the town before it was a town for you. The elder Indians from this region will tell you that this area was believed by the Indians to be safe from tornados due to the river. That's why this precise area was settled. However it has always been sought after by native tribes before the white people settled it. Natives fought over it for it's safety from the weather. Much bloodshed has been spilt in the woods that surround the town. Especially along the Washita. Be sure to look into Indian spiritual chants for protection if you go looking. Or carry a turtle figure with turquoise on it as the Choctaw believed it was good luck. Also sometimes you'll find where kids have dabbled in witchcraft or satanic rituals out there.
