Driving around Dow lake near Haileyville one night, I suddenly had a terrifying feeling and the hairs on the back of my neck stood up. Looking up into the rear-view mirror, I could see the glowing outline of a person in the back seat. My buddy was with me in the front, and he saw it too. We were instantly freaked out, so I punched the accelerator and in less than a mile it was gone. It started somewhere between the bridge

and the old pumphouse, near the dam.

may well feel that Haileyville, Oklahoma is exactly identical to any other municipality in the States, but if you are easily startled, you'd better steer clear of this place at night. Dark time is living dead time here. A number of folks who live here argue these testimonies are lies, but not all of the locals of Haileyville are quite alive.
