I once went to sleep with a red light on also and got a horrible shock. For some unknown reason I opened my eyes in the middle of the night and saw a weird freaky looking thing with a big head looking in at me through the window. I was so terrified that I couldn't move and so I shut my eyes and then opened them a few seconds later but what ever it was had left.
