My girlfriend and I were returning from a friend's shop east of Jennings one November evening in 2004. Her sister had died a few days previous and it was a cold, wet evening. We were returning on a side road to a short highway that connected Jennings to Terlton, running east-to-west. We were about a quarter-mile east of Jennings about to intersect at the junction when I suddenly sighted a silver motorcycle, and a black-leather-clad driver with a helmet speed in front of us. My girlfriend saw him also and I commented that he was driving a bit too fast on such a wet evening. His parking lights were on; I saw that much. As we pulled up to the stop sign to see for traffic, we glanced in both directions and didn't see anything!
I looked at her, she looked at me, and I asked if she heard anything. She turned off the motor as I hopped out to see if perhaps the rider had slid off the road. There wasn't any traffic noise except the gentle patter of the rain beginning to fall. We turned east, the rider's direction, and drove the quarter mile toward Jennings;

the speed limit was 40 MPH. There were no tire marks, no skid marks - nothing to indicate the motorcycle rider's path. I distinctly remember that there was no sound of a speeding motorcycle, but the rider turned his black facemask toward us as he passed. A few days later, I finally summoned the nerve to mention it to a couple of friends, including

the one whose shop we had left a few days previously. They looked at each other a moment, then questioned us about the bike description and the rider's apparel. After a few moments, they told us about a guy they knew who matched that description. He had been killed on a curve a mile or so east of where we had seen him some months earlier. And his riding apparel was similar to what we saw him wearing when he zipped by us that cold, wet evening. I always wondered if anyone else had a similar experience. Submitted by B.J.
