Upon arriving to the creek I clearly saw an old man panning for gold. This is illegal on the refuge. His clothes were tattered. He had a long gray beard and bushy gray eyebrows. As I got closer he heard the rocks beneath my feet, and as he looked up he saw me and very slowly vanished. I admit the hair on my neck stood up. I took a picture but nothing showed up in it. I ran all the way     back to my car scared to death. I've been back twice now and have not seen anything since. This sighting happened in march of 2008.
