Paden, Oklahoma Ghost Tales When I was 11 years old my grandfather passed away in Paden, Oklahoma. Just three months later my grandmother also passed away there in Paden. I was extremely grief stricken, but I tried not to show it because they were my mothers parents, and she would wake up at night crying if she dreamed about them. By the time spring arrived my mother was doing some better, and so was I. Then one day I felt very tired after eating my lunch and laid down on my bed to take a nap. I was just about to doze off and remember thinking that it was a little too cool in the room. Suddenly, my grandmother who was dead picked up the blanket on the end of my bed and spread it over me. I guess most people would have been scared to death, but not me because I fell fast asleep. A couple of hours later I woke up thinking I had dreamed the entire episode, but also realized I had not covered myself with the blanket. My mother was the only person home other than myself, and she told me that she did not cover me with the blanket. That's when I realized that my grandmother       was still watching over me. My mother is now dead, but I never told her the story about my grandmother covering me with a blanket. I feel rather guilty when I think about it because maybe my mother would have gotten some kind of comfort knowing my grandmother had just passed from one world into another, and her love for us was still very much alive.
