A man by the name of Crazy Jack was hung there from a bunch of local farmers. Crazy Jack would hide in the thicket and scare lone riders causing the horse to lose his rider. Jack would then steal the horse and food. He was said to be crazy because he would laugh and scream at the fallen riders. The locals got even with him and caught him off guard. They hit him over the head with a gun and tied his hands. When Crazy Jack woke up he was tied backward on a horse with a noose around his neck. The locals asked if he had any last words he said I will get you for this. I will never leave this place and your horse will never pass through these parts. He was hung. But in Haunted Hollow you can hear strange things and see dark shadows darker than the night. He is said to still haunt Bevan creek to this day. The tree Jack hung from is very creepy and looks like a tortured soul. This was back in the late 1800s early 1900s when jack was hung.
