Tuskahoma, Oklahoma Ghost Tales It's as if eastern Oklahoma and southeastern Oklahoma was always intended to be a place for strange happenings, and even stranger mysteries from the very begining of time. As a child I spent many happy days at Tuskahoma, Oklahoma with my grandparents during the summer. My grandfather told me a story about a strange creature who lived among all the trees and mountains in the Tuskahoma area. The creature was about eight feet tall with the face of a gorilla, and had glowing yellow eyes, and it was covered in brownish hair about ten inches long. It walked upright like a man and it's hair had moss and fungus growing on it. Many people would sit up all night long with the body of a dead family member or friend, because if the body was not guarded the creature would show up and steal the body. There were several reports made by fishermen and hunters who had seen the creature around the Kiamichi river eating insects, frogs and worms. The creature once stole the body of a dead man with blond hair, and three days later a fisherman accidently caught the body of the stolen dead man on a fish hook while fishing in the Kiamichi river.
