Jinx thank you for this information. If I ever go back up to Garden City Kansas again ill see if my dad will take me down in the southwest part so I could try to see the giant bird. Take care!.

A person has to be very careful when traveling country roads and country highways southwest of Weatherford Oklahoma. There has been a large gray bird spotted in that area and I saw it when it swooped down one evening while I was fixing some livestock fence.
This bird must have been a species that liked rather large game because it showed no fear of me. After returning to my pickup I noticed the big bird flew over to a tree directly behind my pickup. It watched me sitting in the pickup for about 15 minutes like it was waiting for me to return to the fence.|
This particular bird was as large as a California condor but was shaped more like an eagle. It was then I remembered an American Indian legend about a large bird they called a ''thunder bird. '' according to the legends the large bird was known to carry off kids and young livestock.
This happened about 10 years ago and I have not seen it since and none of my friends have seen it since then either. I still do not know what to think about my sighting of this large bird. I guess there is the possibility it could be something associated with the paranormal or supernatural.
