She was wearing a dress of late 1870s vintage with a Blue and White sunbonnet. Later when I related the Story to a long-time local he told me that the lady had been dead for years!. Another ghost     Story that I learned during my childhood Summers in Anahuac was one about an old House on the Eastern short of Trinity Bay about a mile or so south of the local hospital. The House had been abandoned for Many years by the time I came along and with all its paint gone it was the perfect stereotype of the haunted house. Until it burned in 1961 it was said to be haunted by the spirit of a former occupant who had hanged himself from an ornamental newel-post over the stairwell.
