Archer City, Texas Ghost Tales When I was a child there was a house at the end of our street. I cannot remember the street name, but legend says there was a shootout there between state troopers and bootleggers. The house can be seen off of hwy 79. My friends and I went to explore the house and heard footsteps coming down the stairs. When we looked to see who was there, we saw noone. The footsteps continued across the ground floor and towards the front door. It scared us badly and we left. The       spirit of a youthful guy sporting a confederate uniform has regularly been observed reasoning in Berry Stadium late at night. The ghost of a bound up gentleman is rumored to have been seen on one or two occasions at Archer City Lake Dam before dawn moving orbs around.
