Balmorhea, Texas Ghost Tales I am a life-long resident of Balmorhea. Yes there are a share of ''ghost stories'' but i have yet to see the ones described by the author of this article. Residents of Balmorhea do know the local sightings of ghosts or hauntings in this small town,ask a local and you will hear of several things from stories of the devil swinging on the arms of the cross on top of the hilltop of the nearby town of Brogado, to stories of the infamous ''Red Brick House or Devils House'' as locals will call it. I have not heard anything or seen anything though at Balmorhea Lake...at least perhaps not yet. Balmorhea does have a past behind it that does leave room to believe that ghosts do share place with the living.
