Bayside, Texas Ghost Tales I grew up in a very old house in Bayside, Texas that belonged to my great grandparents. As a young child, I repeatedly was awakend during the night and startled by the image of a tall, slender man wearing coat & long tails, with a tophat. Also, by noises of footsteps in my upstairs bedroom where I slept. As an adult, I can still vividly remember the image, and find the experiences disturbing. Night time is living dead time here. Doubters don't have faith in the local phantom tales, but the undead spirits of Bayside are all too real. These are some of the spooky things that have happened here recently. The scary ghost of a Viking has every so often been spotted on a dark night drifting along on Aransas River. A chilling skeleton is every now and then observed looking down into the water at Black Point on a dark night. According       to the people who live here, this spirit is that of a local resident who dwelled here in Bayside before the present.
