Bellville, Texas Ghost Tales | |

|
A land on Hwy 36 N belonged to a man who told me countless stories of strange happenings - such as the sound of footsteps when no one was there, wierd things happening to appliances in the mobile home in which he lived, and later having it confirmed that nothing was wrong with them; the dogs he had could sense when something was awry as well. I am his daughter, and never really believed in spirits or ghosts, until one day I witnessed it personally-the crystal clear sound of what sounded like a grown man with possibly boots on ( something kind of heavy) walk up the steps, grasp and turn the door handle, opened the ''locked'' door, may I add, step into the kitchen, take a few steps in, and then nothing...I was sitting in the living room with my father, and his wife who had also had many strange experiences...and the memory of it creeps me out to this day, and that was nearly 20 years ago. My dad used to say all the time that he thought they were near an Indian burial ground. I am not sure if this is the case, but there is no record of what

or who lived upon that site before my grandpa used it for farmland . My father died right at that sight of a heart attack at age 41... Heart attack was written as the cause of death but his wife would not allow an autopsy to be performed so I guess it will never for sure be known. The land was sold years later and there sits a large house easily seen

up on the hill from the road. There is however an old grayish barn that my father had had built where he used to spend a lot of his time. Sometimes I wonder if he too roams that little area... . Submitted by Bridget Categories: home, farmland, sounds, footsteps
I live in Bellville and on some occasions there will be a blue light around my house and other odd happenings in the few days prior and following the spotting of said light. It will hang around for a week or two and then be gone for a month or two then be back again. We all just call the blue light either ''her'' or simply ''the blue light.''. Submitted by Nooney
