My mom's house is haunted. My great grandpa haunts that place.

Around 1985 there was an old hospital that had been turned into apartments. The building had a reputation of ghosts because it had been a hospital for years and many people died there. My boyfriend (Larry) at that time rented the top floor of the building that had been the operating room at one time. It had a large skylight in the middle of the ceiling that was now the living room but had been the operating room long ago. Of course they did not have the lighting we have today, so skylights and windows were necessary. There was an old elevator that was still in use and came right up to the operating room, plus a stairway right next to it.

One morning Larry called me and asked me to come over and see something. When I came into the living room he pointed to the wall under the windows. Neatly lined up against the wall were the contents of his pants pockets. His change was lined up one coin next to the other, his comb, billfold, as well as his nail clippers. The money was all in his billfold, so no one had robbed him. Larry said he had slept on the couch and awakened to see his pockets contents over against the wall.
One night while I was there we were in the bedroom discussing the possibility of ghosts there, and all of a sudden we heard the crystals on an antique lamp begin to start spinning very fast. There was no breeze and no open windows, but the crystals were spinning so fast. We went into the room, and it was very cold in the room. I began to talk to whatever entity it was and said ''whatever happened to you in this room was long ago, and now you have gone on into another dimension. It is a different time. You are not a part of this time anymore. '' The crystals stopped swinging.

The man who owned the apartment house showed us some pictures he took while remodeling of that room, and there was a misty figure in the door way, but there was no human standing in the door way. In one of the apartments below this there was a couple who moved because they said night after night they would hear a cat screaming in the closet, or something that sounded like a cat, but when they looked nothing was there. Larry was not scared but moved after about three months of this. I would have moved the first day. I personally think ghosts are evil spirits, (fallen angels) who pose as the deceased to scare people and put fear in them.

Comment by Rhonda: I know the place you are talking about. I have been there, and it feels spooky. One of my friends moved into one of the apartments. She felt uncomfortable there, heard strange things, and saw a black figure in the middle of the night. She moved out the next day. That building was torn down a while back. God, that place was evil.

Comment by Geral: Where is this place in Belton? I grew up in Belton.
