The crying was not muffled at all but quite clear and actually got louder as the minutes went by. I decided to see what the commotion was about. There was no one in the hall. It was after normal business hours.
I went to look in the women's restroom on the floor but found no one was in the restroom. The crying had almost been to the point of wailing so I went to one of the da's offices on the floor and asked if someone had heard the crying in there. The

answer was no. I heard the crying a few other times but not as loud. People say the bell county courthouse the old district courts building and the county

jail are all haunted. My experience is that I know I heard someone crying. They did not walk past my office to go to the elevator or the public stairs. Submitted by Yvonne
Comment by Janet: This is true. I worked in that same building. I heard the woman crying. I worked as a custodian after hours. That building was haunted. Especially the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th floors. The elevators too.
Comment by Rabbit: Even though it's been remodeled and is now Bell County Sheriffs office the 4th floor is still haunted.
