Bridgeport, Texas Ghost Tales | |
|
In 1970 during a hot summer night when 5 of us boys went south on FM920 to the rodeo arena and stop at the river bridge. Then we followed the river to the right and go about 100 yards. We were camping and fishing; we found three medium sized trees where the ambient temperature was a lot colder,at least 50 degrees. The temperature elsewhere was about 90 degrees and humid except where the trees stood. These trees are close to the rivers edge. The closer we walked to the trees the colder the air got. No other trees nearby had this effect.
This is the approximate location of the original town of Bridgeport.
Those who related this to others were laughed at. I was asked about it and only smiled like it was all a joke. We saw no figures, heard no sounds but we all felt the cold air. Submitted by B-Port native Category: woods
I lived in this town from 2001 to early 2004, and I didn't see any of the things mentioned in the other stories, but the house that I and my family lived

in was EXTREMELY haunted. There were strange things happening practically every day in that house. It started with seeing a faceless man roaming around my backyard. At night sometimes we would feel someone poke us and hear children laugh while we were trying to sleep. Someone pushed our bed around almost every night we lived in that house. My son

was afraid to sleep every night in his room alone. T.V.'s and other appliances would turn on or off on their own. Toilet paper rolls would turn by themselves. Things would move by themselves. My husband saw an old man in overalls in the hallway on Christmas Eve one year, who then vanished. I suspect maybe all this has to do with the old coal mines that used to be there. . I also have seen the girl by the railroad tracks in the torn white dress. I was walking home late at night and I took a shortcut by the railroad track. it was a hot summer night. as I was walking I noticed it started to get cold. I found it odd but I kept walking. later on my trip home I saw a girl sitting down by the railroad tracks just looking straight at me. I could not tell what her face looked like for it was blurry. I turned around then I turned back to see her but she had disappeared. I have seen her more than once now. it is very odd and strange. I will
