Comment by Quest Ballard: Ok technically this is not only for your post but also some interesting tidbit for John as well Bonnie and Clyde Barrow pulled a job and went through what we call old town Burleson. There used to be a building here near the intersection by the railroad tracks about a block or 2 west of Renfro called Bailey's One Main Place, this is the building that you can see the half ghosts who just want to let you know that you aren't alone. There was also a barbeque joint there called Odom's Ribs, it is also haunted.
But as Mrs. Odom was my elementary librarian, and a super nice lady, I wouldn't want to besmirch her place of business. There are a lot of reasons that it's a hotbed for activity. How about nuke payloads on that very train bound for Mansfield back when we were building and testing the super-collider project before it was scrapped. And did you know about the three bodies found buried when they were clearing the land for the subcourthouse that is over there by the high school? Or because it is a touchy subject that you might want to ask someone who has lived there since the late 70s to mid to late 80s what the old city limit signs said. Lets just say it was a racial hotbed too, so there is a lot of angst, hatred, sorrow, and pain that lingers in that area.
Interesting history research nonetheless, see what else you can ''dig up''.
Comment by Adrian: Yeah there was nothing weird about the city limits signs. Not in the 80s anyway. It's very true that Burleson was very racist until pretty recently however. There was never any nuclear payloads on those tracks at least that has been declassified.
And those tracks lead to Fort Worth not Mansfield. Also the collider was in Waxahachie. There was never any testing there; they never even finished building the tunnels. I have never heard about bodies dug up while they built the sub-courthouse.
It doesn't even have a basement. Anyway that would have been big news. I don't live in Burleson anymore but I grew up there and didn't leave until I was nearly 20 years old.

I am moving to Burleson, Texas soon. I would like to know if anyone knows anything about the land that Auberge of Burleson apartments is being constructed on. I'm hoping for a haunting! Thanks in advance Christine.

Was there ever a bed and breakfast in Burleson around 1918?.
