At night, I have a bedroom with windows to the living room and to our yard. Our bedroom light turns on by itself. I'd go to turn it off, and sometimes it would be back on 2 hours later. Our neighbor also has an outdoor spotlight that catches on the sides of my window. What's weird is - it turns on and off at midnight or later. Submitted by anonymous Categories: lights, home
I grew-up in Country Place which borders Columbia Country Club. I am 36 now but lived there for my Jr. High and High School years. I saw a similar story on the net a few years ago and had to laugh. It was written by a previous night securtity gaurd of the country club. He reported seeing ''ghostly lights'' and ''figuers'' at the edge of the lake but when he invesigated he found nothing. That was about five of friends and myself sneeking in at night to go catfishing and occasionally drink beer. We had cut a hole in the chainlink fense along the canal and would seek in as the channel cat fishing was great! As for why he never found anything we would leave our rods along the

edge of the bank and hide under the bridges that crossed the canals that were designed for golf carts. We could see the clubhouse from across the lake and whenever he started his golf card we heard it beep while backing out of the space or see his headlights blink on. He would walk down and shine his flashlight under the bridge but we were up under

it. As for the ''ghostly lights'' we were looking along the bank with minnymags for frogs, turtles, and crayfish. On calm nights you could see the lights reflect off the surface of the water and into the clubhouse picture window if the angle was just right. We ere not trying to be ghosts just kids out to catch some fish. I went back about ten years ago and you could see where someone had patched the hole and someone else had cut the patch. I am quite certain the kids still know that catfishing on Colombian is better than the fishing in Country Place. I spent probably over a hundred nights between the hours of 10:30 p.m. and 5 a.m. at the Colobian Lake spillway (of which there are six or seven before the lake in the canal) and never saw anything but water snakes, nutria, beavers, fish, frogs, turtles, possums, and racoons. Ohh, and the occasional security gaurd. There was a body found in weeds at the opposite end of the lake after the spillway and across the road in the summer of '91 though. As I remember she had been stabbed. I was working

wor the Carrolton Parks Department during my summer break when someone found her while clearing brush. I don't know if it was ever solved or where the stab wound was but it was believed she was dumped from the bridge crossing the creek that led out of Colobian. .
