Childress, Texas Ghost Tales

I lived in Childress for 2 years when I was 13-14. We lived in a house on the main hiway in town, accross from a United grocery store. I went back a year or so ago after 35 years and the house we lived in was a real estate company.(Not sure what it is now). The house was supposedly built by a man named Johnson, who later commited suicide in the dining room of this house. (We did not know this at the time we moved in). It was my first experience with ghosts but I have never forgotten it and have researched such issues since then. There is no way to list all the incidents that occured but here are a few. Everyone has heard the stories about the rocking chair rocking, well this one rocked until it turned over backwards.(i was home alone). My mother and I would make the beds while cleaning house and she always turned the spread up over the pillow and tucked it in. One morning after making my little brothers bed she called me back to the room and asked me why I made the bed like that. The covers were turned back and pillows proped up against the
headboard. My aunt had a little dog she brought with her everytime she came by and the little dog would get to the dining room and he would go crazy, barking, growling, hair standing up. The switch on the vaccum cleaner would cut off on its on when vaccumming the dining room. I had a little brother that was about 4 at the time and he had a bad habit
of falling in the floor and pitching fits when he didnt get his way. One day he fell down in the dining room floor and started his normal routine and instantly he jumped up and turned really white. My mom asked him what was wrong and he said someone slapped him. She said no one slapped you, I was standing right here. He moved his hand away from his face and there was a perfect adult hand print on his face. These are thing I witnessed myself, and there were way to many to list, but the one that sticks in my mind the most also occured in the dining room. Again my little brother was running through the house with a pair of scissors he had gotten from my moms sewing cabinet. I was behind him trying to catch up and something grabbed both my ankles, causing me to fall face and hands first into a glass china cabinet. It broke all the glass from both doors, but I didnt have a scratch on it. I still had that cabinet until about 10 years ago and everytime I passed it I could not help but remember that day. We did find out later that Mr Johnson committed
suicide in the dining room of this house. I have never spoken to anyone who has lived there since. As I said it was a real estate company last time I went through there but it was a Saturday so I could not stop to see if they had any interesting stories to tell. Would really like to go back there someday and see if Mr Johnson would like to visit awhile.
