The old guy must have had a pet, because we also saw a black and white cat. In the beginning I would see it run under our bed. I thought it was our dog and bent down to look under the bed, and again there was nothing. It was a little creepy, but it was just something we accepted and often talked about. Since he never was threatening I figured that he was just a lost soul that had not found his way home yet. I researched our address for any deaths in
the house and was not able to find anything.

Comment by anonymous: Thank you for having such a sensible attitude toward the spirit in your home. I always hate to see people assume that every spirit one encounters is the work of something evil. This is certainly not true.
They are usually just people; people just like us who are going about their own business. Thank you for letting this man and his cat have some peace and being smart/sensitive enough to recognize he meant no harm.

I live in an apartment, and I believe that the area has a few ghosts. In my apartment I hear unexplained knocking on the wall in the bathroom/laundry room area. I have the sense of being watched constantly, and on one occasion so far while lying in bed reading I heard something like a bump on the roof. When I looked up I saw my bedroom overhead fan start turning counter-clockwise about a quarter of a turn and then stop. The fan and A/C were off at that time, so there was no reason for it to be moving. I have also had knocks on my door in the middle of the day, and no one was there. I was always told by my mom that when that happened a spirit wanted inside. If you open the door, then you granted it access. I do not know if it is true, but my mom had very strong feelings towards this.

While I was away for business, I let a good friend stay at my place, and she stated that almost every night she would wake up due to someone whispering in her ear to 'get up. ' She would get up and check the apartment to which no one was there. My ex-girlfriend also lives here in the complex. I was at her place one night, and we were just talking in the bedroom. All of a sudden I stopped mid-sentence because something moved in the corner of the room by the window that caught my eye. I looked in that direction, and I saw a silhouette of a man in the corner just standing there watching us. The only other people in the apartment were the kids, and they were all upstairs asleep since it was like 1:00 or 2:00 am. I did not tell my ex what I saw until the next day because she does not really believe in ghost sightings and the paranormal. We just finished our conversation that I paused. I told her the next day because she knows that I strongly believe in the paranormal and ghosts due to being able to see them on and off ever since I was a kid. She told me she saw the figure also.
