In 1996 I was visiting a friend that lived in the Sunset Heights area near UTEP. I frequently would stay overnight on weekends. One night I had stayed up late, and my friend and her son had gone to sleep, and I heard a noise. Thinking it was her son, I just ignored it. The noise persisted, and I decided to look down the hall. To my surprise I saw an image of a little boy in pajamas running, and since I knew my friend's son was older I thought it was weird. I held my breath for a while, and I could still hear his barefoot feet on the hard wood floor running again. It scared me, so I closed the door to my room. I was very quiet, and again I could hear him running around the house. I just remained in my room until the sound stopped.
In the morning I told my friend about what I had experienced, and she said she had experienced this many times before. She told me his name was Julian and told me she had something to show me. We went to an area of the living room where she showed me that her wooden floor was always wet. She also told me that she had it checked for a possible leak but that was not the case. She finally decided to do some research on the house. She discovered that at some time back a family had lived in the house and that they had a little boy named Julian. One day as the mother was giving him a bath in the living room he had drowned in the container. In the olden days people would give the children a bath in some type of container. They chose the living room because it was warmer near the fireplace. She also told me that she had a priest bless her house. The priest recommended she place a cross in the wet area and that anytime she hear Julian running around to call out to him and make him feel loved.

I used to live in a very old apartment building on Rio Grande between Brown and Noble. The building is shaped like a hollow square and there is a courtyard in the middle. I lived in that building twice in different apartments. I was a graduate student and a single mother at that time, so I never paid much attention to who was living in the building with me. People would move in and out so often. I never bothered to try to make friends. Both times I experienced hearing arguments in the courtyard, only to look out the window and find nobody there. Other tenants said they too had heard phantom arguments at times. After a while I just convinced myself that I was hearing someone's TV.
