I would be in the kitchen and hear a man's whistling and I would be the only one home. I also heard children running down the hall every once in a while. I collect antiques and acquired a child's peddle fire truck with a     bell on it.  I kept it in the front bedroom and sometimes at night after going to bed I would hear the bell ring.  I also once heard a old melody type music box playing.  I always had the feeling I was never alone.  My daughter was over once and told me she saw what looked like someone sitting in my living room smoking.  She actually saw the smoke but when she went to investigate she saw no smoke but she smelled it.  I never felt threatened in the house but when your alone these things can be scary.
