Fort Stockton, Texas Ghost Tales I was staying at a hotel in Ft. Stockton over 30 years ago. Arriving at 2 or 3 in the morning after partying in Alpine, I crept quietly into my room trying not to wake my dates' elderly aunt who was sleeping in one of the beds. It didn't take long before I was sleeping soundly. Suddenly, I was wide awake and didn't know why. I looked to see if his Aunt had fallen off her bed;no; I then looked toward the inner door and listened in case someone was knocking on the door; no; It was then I sat on the side of the bed and looked toward the door that went to the parking lot that I saw a man standing next to my bed. Instead of being frightened, my first response was as if I knew him and I said, '' Well, hey, what are you doing here?'' It was then that I noticed that I could see through him and that he looked like pictures I had seen of Mark Twain. His ghostly vision was only from the shoulders up. Thinking I must be dreaming, I rubbed my eyes and looked again. He was there. I lay down, put my head on the pillow still denying to myself that he was       there and that I must be dreaming. It was then that I realized I had been sitting up, had rubbed my eyes, yet I had seen what I saw and he didn't disappear until I lay down. I have never seen anything like this before or since. For years I slept with my light on, afraid he would return. Afraid, because of my response. That perhaps I knew him. When   I told my Dad the story, he said there were many ghost stories in Ft. Stockton. I certainly wasn't looking for one, nor would I expect to see one there. Submitted by Kcobb I've never heard of some of the stories yall have on here but here is a few that I know of. I live in ft.stockton and have seen many things over the years. In the easthill cemetary there is a mosolium if you knock on the door you will get a knock back. In a house on gonzales loop there is a two story house I lived in. The upstairs rooms were very haunted, The bathroom was always cold, and you could feel someone watching you. I was walking up the stairs one day about 7:00pm and heard my tv in the bedroom blaring some news channel very loud when I got to the room it was silent the tv was unplugged, and there was no cable or anything going to that tv. In a house on 6th srteet my son came out of the bathroom one day and told me there was a man in the bathroom talking to him. When I went in the bathroom it was very cold and chills ran down my spine.
