My husband and I moved to Georgetown in January 2020. We were renting an apartment in the old Mattie Rouser House built in 1860. It was renovated into 3 small apartments in the 1930s. When we moved in we joked with the landlord if the place was haunted, and he said no, but he said that Mattie herself had died in the house. Every time we were not in the kitchen we would hear a bang in there. When we returned after being out things would be moved, and

different lights were on when we made sure they were all off before we left. Our landlord finally confessed that the doors in their apartment open by

themselves, and they also would hear a bang in their kitchen during the night. We haven't seen her yet, but I expect to. Submitted by Helen

This is about Georgetown ghost. I moved into an apartment complex in Georgetown, TX in 2010. The first indication I had of something paranormal in the apartment was the smell of cigarette smoke. I didn't smoke, and the smell of cigarettes being smoked permeated the apartment. I really didn't think too much of it at the time until other phenomenon began to happen. I'd hear really weird clicking, crackling, and sizzling electrical sounds once I got into bed. These sounds would keep me awake for most of the night.
One night when I was really tired I laid my head on my pillow and let out a deep sigh of relief. ''ahhhh,'' I said. Right next to me on the pillow the exact sound ''ahhhhh.'' I was terrified. Something was lying in bed with me. I was afraid to move.
