When I was younger than my current age of thirteen I can't remember when but one of my brother's friends told me a legend that I'm not entirely sure is real but I think that my brother might have found some proof of it one night.
Here it is or at least as much as I can remember of it: a long time ago when they still killed people that were accused of practicing witchcraft they thought that a lady in Gilmer was a witch. They tortured her and ended up chaining her to a tree in the cemetery and leaving her there to die.
She thrashed around in the chains and yelled that she wasn't a witch until she finally died. As the legend goes her spirit still haunts that tree (which is still there by the way) and if you go there at the right time you can hear her spirit still trying to get out of the chains which still bind her spirit to that tree to this very day.|
I've always been to scared of what I might find to go look but my brother said that he did one time. At first he and his friend was looking at the wrong tree then they went to a different tree and found something that shocked them there were chain marks on the tree! Sadly even they were to scared to go at night so that's all of the evidence that they got but it's enough to make me and my friend believe it.
It's entirely possible in my point of view. What do you think?.
