with my hands to see if I could simulate what I had witnessed. I never could get the spool of thread to even roll to the east, when I hit it off the shelf it would only go forward heading south.
To try to hit it on the side it would hit up against the shelf and fall to the floor . I tried for a good half an hour until my husband told me to just accept what I had seen and leave it at that. I was really glad to finally move.

I don't believe in much of anything but this story trips my trigger. There has been a story told of a wounded cavalry Civil War soldier who comes upon people fishing on the Brazos River around the hwy. 290 west bridge between Hempstead, Texas and Chappell, Texas.
He is looking for the camp. I guess the camp is the prisoner of war camp for Union soldiers. If any one can please tell me more about this ghost story please do so for I would like to know.|

I'm from Hempstead, and I have never heard any of these tales. I have heard about sightings at the historic liendo plantation.
