In Houston in the 60s there was a woman named Lucida that owned a curio shop. People went to her shop to find strange and hard to find antiques. One day Lucida went missing and was never found. No one ever claimed her house or shop. Mysteriously many of the antiques in her shop went missing days after she went missing. Through the years people have claimed to have found her antiques that have mysteriously appeared in strange places.

I went on a joyride one day and came across the old Jefferson David hospital in downtown Houston. It was about ten years ago, before it was turned into apartments. The old hospital was built on top of what once was a burial ground and cemetery. After many years of service it closed its doors and remained abandoned for many years. When I found myself in front of this old rotting building, in a decrepit state, undeniably lost in time. Looking at all the busted out windows on the top floor I noticed one single light coming from the third floor left corner. It looked like a regular light bulb just hanging from the ceiling.
Nothing spooky about that, right? Well there was no sign of electricity or power of any sort going to the building. No other lights were on. I could not locate any type of meters or power source. There was no power. It had been without power for many years come to find out. I still wonder to this day about that light I saw up there that day and the eerie feeling it gave me and not to mention my first paranormal experience.

The house is in Huntington Village on Spring Grove Dr. (SW Houston-Alief area). It had been in my family for twenty-six years before it was sold in Oct 2001, Since then the house has had at least five different owners. My family started to notice little things after my grandmother died in the downstairs bedroom. Not much was thought of it even after my father died in the upstairs bedroom at the top of the stairs. My mom who NEVER believed in any of this ''ghost'' stuff realized that there are things that can not be explained especially after when my grandfather (her dad) died. We would see his shadow in the doorway as if he was just about to enter the living room. We would hear noises coming from his living room area (my dad had turned the garage into a kitchen/living room area for my grandparents with the downstairs bedroom and bath as their ''apartment'')
