When I was about 3 years old I lived with my parents in a small house in La porte. My father and his sister grew up in it as children. There are many scary things associated with this house, which I always called ''the white house,'' even though it wasn't completely white--it had a thick dark red stripe near the bottom. There were so many disturbances in this house, too many to list here in detail, but a common thing is hearing footsteps in the hallway, and one time my father's friend was waiting there by himself and heard something incredibly loud like a big book being slammed down, it scared him so much he ran out of the house and waited in the street 'til others arrived.

My father doesn't believe in new-age hogwash, but he's convinced this place is haunted by something. I had horrible dreams in this house, but what's really scary is something I experienced wide awake, which I called ''the figlets.

'' sometimes my parents would come running to me wherever I was in the house, because I was screaming about ''the figlets! '' I can only imagine how scary this was for my parents. They were sounds and visions which would take some time to describe. My father and I have always been terrified of the closet at the end of the hall, and also the first room to the left from the hall, which many folks have complained about. My dad's sister dreamt some years ago that the house was calling her back and the dream told her something of the origins of the phenomena, which I can't remember right now. Submitted by Suproxia
