La Pryor, Texas Ghost Tales | |

At about 2:30am one Wednesday summer night, myself and about ten friends were all bunched up in my truck heading to the la Pryor bridge river coming from Uvalde. My best friend and I were sharing the passenger seat, she was sitting next to the window of course and my boyfriend at the time was driving, there were about four people in the back seat and a few others sitting in the bed of the truck. If you pay attention there is a straight away that runs for a 1/2 mile or so just before you get to the rest area. My boyfriend (idiot) turned off the headlights as we were on the way to the river and had rolled the windows down, so us like dummies were all yelling and screaming for him to turn the lights back on before anything happened. At the time my best friend had her right arm and head resting on the door as we drove and I was leaning on her. At the exact moment as he turned the headlights back on an old lady appeared right next to the passenger door facing us! My best friend was face to face with this lady and I just stared at her and we all

screamed out of fear. she was dressed in a sweater, had short hair with curls at the end, she had no color to her but for grey,white and what I would say black but as we know it was us seeing straight through her. No reflection as I recall was on the side mirror, just the visual of the bed of the truck and the noise of everyone yelling questioning

at each other if we had all seen her. we slammed on the breaks, rolled up the window and just stayed stunned thinking ''what the hell was that'', the rest of the group that was in the bed of truck began to bang on the back window for us to turn around to see if she was real or not. We then did so and to our surprise she was nowhere to be found. Not in the ditch, not on the side of the road, NO WHERE! We made another u-turn and continued to the river. A few of us including me stayed in the truck with windows up while the others got off to swim. That was one time though I will never forget, scary if you were one of the ones who were with us at the time. .

I was driving on my 67 Black Harley Davidson hard tail from San Antonio and stopped at that bridge at 11:59pm on a Tuesday about a year ago... because of excessive exhaustion due to excessive physical exertion.... I took my leather jacket off to get cool...and put it on the crash fence on the bridge.... instantly

the jacket litteraly flew into the air... crossed the highway and threw itself into the creek.... it disappeared...... it scared the ... out of me... there was no wind and no traffic had passed.... had problems starting my moto....and began to push it down the road for about a mile... It was really dark and I was getting chills up and down my spine..... never told anybody about it....
