Comment by Sandy: It is just an old cemetery and someone must've destroyed it, that's why those crosses are there. And why would y'all people say it's a slave cemetery; I think that is disrespectful.
Comment by Todd: Sandy. I'm a paranormal investigator for 17 years if they were slaves there's nothing wrong with saying a slave cemetery. I've done many of them and that's how we communicate with them. Once we know they are we show all respect for them and tell them so.
But to identity them as they were they know that. There's no disrespect in it unless you go on saying things about them then you're being disrespectful. I did a grave that had buffalo soldiers in it.
That's how we talked to them to identity them. I had one that friended me and we talked quite a bit. Then after a year of talking he never came back to his site or he never communicated with me there again.
Maybe he moved on finally. Seeing a white man treated him with respect which was unheard of back then. Maybe that's all he needed. But there is no disrespect in saying it's a slave cemetery.
Comment by Ethan: I've lived in lake Jackson my whole life and what I do know is that this city is home to the Abner Jackson Plantation which was in fact operated by slaves. The woods behind the Brazos Mall is a slave cemetery for the slaves that died during their time at the plantation.
Comment by Michael: I actually restored that cemetery and constructed those white crosses as my eagle scout service project. Granted we spent the day there clearing it out and placing the crosses I constructed. It most certainly is a slave cemetery as I had to go to the historical society to get approval for the project. I hope this helps!.
On Trumpet Vine on many occasions I saw a black shadow with a white cloud or cape behind him.
