My dad has heard the Llorona when he was a teen. His dogs were barking non stop one stormy night. He went out to see what was going on and that's when he heard the most terrible cry of a woman, very loud. He's a skeptic too so I believe him.

Years ago we stayed at the old hotel. We were assigned the two bedroom suite at the top of the stairs. We had taken our small dog as we always did. We toured the city went back to the room and made dinner.
Soon it was time for bed my ten year old daughter took the room with the restroom. Lights out. Our pet began to bark protectively for my daughter and being exhausted she kept telling him to shut up.
Around midnight a loud dog scream woke us up and we ran to her room. Our dog was twisted shocked at the site I have no idea why I grabbed him and began to massage him the whole crying in pain. I asked my daughter what happened? Why? All she said was he kept barking at the restroom.
