Mesquite, Texas Ghost Sightings
I lived in this corner house on Ashland Drive. We had several strange experiences in this house. Lights would go off and on. Appliances would turn on. Dryer door would open, and so would cabinets. You would hear keys played on the piano. You would feel pressure sitting next to you on the couch or bed. Things would move like the rocking horse in my room. My sister and I got locked out of the house when we'd go in the backyard, and we know for sure we
didn't lock the door. I always wanted to know the history of this house and why it's so active.|

I have been a resident of Brookside Village for fifteen years now. The first ten years were spent with my husband who passed of a heart attack. I lived in a quiet community. Before my husband passed he would tell me that he experienced a number of unexplained events like shadows outside the trailer or feeling watched, even being touched. I never believed him until recently when I started to experience similar happenings. I did not feel threatened by whatever it was, but it was an uncomfortable feeling knowing something was there, but you could not see it. Even going out late at night to the car you would get the feeling that someone was watching you.
We had looked into a house here on Lasater Road. When my husband saw the house he was drawn to it. I did not like it. I had a bad feeling. Ever since seeing the house things had not been the same. Our relationship took a bad turn. He seemed more distant, and his main concern was to purchase the house. Financially we were able to, and it was a beautiful home. However, my instinct was not sure. Our constant fights were about the caretaking of the house. My husband remained adamant about keeping up the house. I felt as if the house were handed to him by his father or grandfather. It was almost as if he was committed or obligated to maintain the property. We continued to argue about it, but I stood my ground. The subject was dropped, and a few weeks later we had some friends over. We hung out till late that night and my husband seemed his old self. Then strangely he stood up and said ''I am tired I am going to go home. '' Our friends and I looked at one another and laughed. One of our friends said ''you must be tired, but you're already home. You must mean going to bed''. My husband responded ''yeah, that's what I meant.'' At that very moment he seemed just as distant as when we began to talk about the house.
Early that morning was when my husband had his heart attack. He was in perfect health. Strange things started happening, and I did not believe him. Now that they are happening to me I do not know what to do. I am wondering if it could be my husband trying to communicate. Now every time I pass by the house I get a funny feeling. If I am driving by the house at night I am afraid of looking in my rearview. Afraid of what I might see.
