Nacogdoches, Texas Ghost Tales | |
|
Note: This story is 100% true. I experienced it myself while living in the house. The house was built sometime in the early 1900's. The house is a duplex with the side we lived on having two bedrooms, a bathroom in between them, a living room and a kitchen.
Both sides of my family have lived in Nacogdoches for many generations. They were two of the families involved in the settlement of Woden Texas to be exact. That aside, my story involves a duplex house on the corner of Lanana St. And Price St. Directly across from the Thomas J. Rusk Cemetery. I lived there with a friend of mine during 2005. I can't remember the exact months we lived there but I'm pretty sure it was in the summer. My mother was the owner of the house at the time due to her inheriting it. I never personally stayed the night in the house due to the events that took place but my roomate often did. I kept my things there nonetheless due to the rent being free. My mother had given us various decorations to move in with and one was a small antique light house. We placed

it on a bookshelf in the living room next to the entryway. Almost EVERYDAY, at one time or another, the lighthouse would fly off of the shelf onto the floor. At first we thought the floor could be unlevel but that was not the case. We would always come home to the lighthouse being on the floor as well. After a while we both stopped staying there and

started moving our things out. One night though, another friend of mine and I went to get some things out of the refrigerator due to the electricity being cut off. I was nervous enough as it was with it being dark so we attempted to bring my friends half Siberian Husky half Border Collie in with us. She wouldn't go into the house. She stopped right at the doorway and cried and fled. The kitchen is the first room you enter from the back so we decided to go in anyways scared out of our wits. As soon as we got the refrigerator door open, we heard noises coming from the living room. Human sized footsteps walking around and then stopping. We got what we needed and fled, terrified. Needles to say, that was the end of it. I never went back at night. I moved my belongings and never returned. A few years later, my mother sold the house, but due to our occurences.
One more note. After the lighthouse incidents we decided to ask our neighbor who lived in the room next to us if she'd ever had any activity like ours. Her eyes shot open and she

told us yes, she had. (I'm not claiming any of her story is true, as I was never a witness to it. ) She told us that her dishes would move from counter to her cabinet when she would leave. She also told us that once she was bathing and when she returned to her bedroom, her television had been moved from her entertainment center to her bed. As I've said, my family no longer owns the duplex but I would really like to hear if anyone else has lived there and had any of the same experiences. Submitted by Stephen Category: home
