Palestine, Texas Ghost Tales I was walking by this old house down the street from me and well it was almost dark and I glanced over at the house and through a window saw a figure standing there looking at me and that house has been empty for about a year.. Phantoms are so typical in this place; scores of locals don’t even worry about it anymore. Some locals declare there are no ghosts, but the undeparted may very well show themselves to you if you stay an extra day in Palestine. These are some of the spooky things that have happened here recently. The ghost of a strapped up guy is repeatedly made out in Calhoun Streen Park after midnight pulling a cadaver through some bushes. People here who have witnessed this ghost argue this ghost is probably the tormented ghost of a resident who used to have a home here in Palestine. The ghost of a youthful woman covered       in blood can often be distinguished sitting in a beanbag in a residence in Palestine. The phantom of an elderly hag can be noticed time and again down at the water's edge at Blue Lake gazing irritably at the viewer. Residents here claim that this ghost is the struggling soul of a long departed Palestine resident. A female's body having   a horse's head has once in a while been made out staggering from home to home on a dark night on a Palestine avenue. A somewhat decayed human cadaver is occasionally spotted at Broughton Lake Dam at midnight throwing boulders. One of the residents strongly says that this ghost is the ghost of a vacationer that was murdered while passing through Palestine many years ago. The ghost of a farmer sporting a farmer hat may sometimes be seen mounding stones in the middle of Basset Creek. Several of the people here allege this ghost is that of a local resident who existed here in Palestine many years ago. The phantom of a young air force pilot has regularly been seen going through a bookshelf in the living room of a Palestine building late at night.
