Pecos, Texas Ghost Tales

Strange noises heard in the house late at nite...also 3 blue bright balls were seen floating in mid air in my house which is located in 1515 s Alamo..also when I was about 5 yrs old I saw a man standing by the window, just alot of scary stuff has happened in that house, which someone else lives in now!.

Most of the people who live here in Pecos, Texas are happily uninformed of the terrible enigmas this settlement possesses; if you are easily frightened, you'd best not come this town in the moonlight hours. There have been a lot of meetings with persons from another world. Folks who have never stayed a day in this city will laugh and say it's all just superstition, but with so many ghosts in Pecos you have a quite fine chance of observing one if you stay for the night in this place.

These are some of the spooky things that have happened here recently.

The ghost of a civil war warrior is occasionally spotted staggering from home to home before sunrise on a Pecos avenue. In any case,
 
    this phantom undoubtedly is frightening; one that you would not want to bump into before sunrise.

The ghost of a man with a name etched into his nose has supposedly been observed on several occasions heaving chunks of concrete into the current at Canyon Creek very late at night.

The ghost of an awfully mangled huntsman hauling a dead
  deer can once in a while be witnessed before sunrise exploring Cherry Canyon in detail. Lots of locals declare this ghost is the ghost of a traveler that was murdered while traveling through Pecos some decades ago.

The ghost of a young-looking woman with a rope around her neck has repeatedly been witnessed going through the refrigerator in the kitchen of a Pecos residence very late at night.

An extremely frightening ghost is often perceived staring at folks in a Pecos house through a keyhole.

The spirit of an elderly gold digger with a sizeable beard and a wooden left leg is rumored to have been made out on a few occasions in a desolate spot close to Pecos.

The ghost of an old lady carrying a gun can be spotted often screaming at the observer to disappear near the entrance to Balmorhea State Park.

The ghost of an old Indian chief has from time to time been noticed trying to get cars to stop next to a shadowy road right next door to Pecos.

A dark rat that turned into a female is from time to time observed
glugging down diesel from a pump at a fueling station in Pecos.
