I grew up south of town on the Resacas and my grandpa would always tell us stories about the witch of El Ranchito. Supposedly she had children and they drowned in the Rio Grande. Years later she would wander up and down the river looking for her children.
I was terrified of her when I was a kid and would not even sleep alone. Many nights out on the Resaca you could hear the howling through the trees... Never knowing if it was the wind or
the witch of El Ranchito.|

I was in my room which is across the hall from my moms room and my new baby sister was about two weeks old. In the middle of the night I heard a baby crying so I got up to see if she was crying and she was sound asleep, when I went back into my room the cable was messed up and when I left I was watching ant farm. I was so scared because I was the only one awake in the whole house.
Since then I don't go into her room.
