been over an hour and Hector hadn't returned.
I was concerned I started to hear from a distance the sounds of footsteps breaking twigs and leaves. Something was out there and I was frightened not as brave as before. I called out Hector is that you? Is that you hector? I got no reply but the footsteps continued to get closer...
And closer. I jumped in the tent and hoped that it was either a prank or just a horrible dream. The sound of a screeching
owl above the tent on that oak didn't help one bit neither did the wild coyotes howling in the darkness.|
It was only making this situation even more
frightening... This wasn't like Hector he would never leave me hanging. I tried to think of positive thoughts to clear my mind. When suddenly the footsteps that had been getting closer were just out-side my tent.|
The sound of a loud un human groan and extremely heavy breathing... I was sure I was dead. The odor of the musky beast had penetrated the canvas tent... I wanted to scream and run out as fast as I could but I was frozen and just stunned by the
