Slaton, Texas Ghost Tales

Just so you know that the Windmill story has been fabricated over the years.  It is actually called ''Witches Windmill'' and yes the windmill will turn in the dead of summer.  I spent many nights there as a teenager.  The spirits are not those of anger.  There is somewhat a peaceful feeling there.  Some people aren't aware that if you were to go in the field the windmill sits in and walk a great distance, there is a cliff.  This cliff is where a little boy was tortured and thrown from.  It is probably one of the saddest stories in the little town of Slaton but you can research it.  This murder happened when I was a very young girl.

I remember visiting on a local Windmill several years ago with a few friends. There's a story told about a young boy who was hung from the windmill for stealing. Such a horrible death can lead to a very unhappy spirit. They say if you attempt to stand at the top of the windmill the boy's spirit will appear and push you off.

I can't say that anything like that ever happened to us, but what I do remember is getting the most awful feeling of being watched and knowing that we weren't welcomed. I remember laying back on the hood of my friends car looking up at the stars when all of a sudden... I heard a creaking noise. The windmill had began to turn! Thing was the wind wasn't
blowing, not even a breeze! Needless to say I haven't gone back.
