Temple, Texas Ghost Sightings - PAGE 17
(...continued from the previous page)|
unexplained things happen to me in the past when I was a child I refuse to think anything of it, and I'm certain it has nothing to do with this being in my home home but I am going to start researc hing the area and see what history the historical area and downtown Temple have in common.
It's neat and terrible that a gallows used to be where the pub was standing! Abouslutly fascinating!.

Comment by Templerez: That is interesting that you say that the gallows used to be where the pub is now located. I assume you mean O'Briens? I was googling hauntings in Temple, Texas out of curiosity. Came across a picture taken at O'Briens that looks like a man hanging.
Who knows if it's fake or not. Where can Temple residents find information about Temple historical areas? Googling it doesn't help it seems. Thanks!.
Comment by Nikki: The picture of the man hanging from the gallow is true. Downtown area (Central Avenue) is part of historical district. There used to be a tunnel underneath the old hotel/theatre that goes all the way over to the old school (next to where you pay water bill). Maybe go to the library and possibly find info there. Also in October there is a haunted tour that will fill you with info. My daughter and I went on the tour, and she picked up on everything only to be validated by the tour guide who was very much impressed. Yes, my daughter has ''6th sense'' and has had since birth. Good luck.
