Comment by Dee: That lake was formerly known as Waterworks Lake, the old supply for city water. It does have an eerie quality and rumors abound that satanic practitioners favor the locale. I don't often have paranormal impressions but one night while there I had the distinct feeling that hundreds of years of bad occurrences left their energy in the land.
Indians, slaves, reckless youths. I was also told it was the past dumping ground for our local mafia.

It was back in 72 when the Fouke Monster was the talk of the town I watched the movie at the old paramount movie house and laughed too. But I went fishing on dulphur River and the Fouke Monster chased me I never went back again.
