We live around the chalk bluff area in Waco so it's only natural that we have a lot (40- something acres) of land. I was in my front yard playing with my dogs when all of a sudden I heard a rustling coming from the woods. I turned to see what it was and saw a flash of red (keep in mind this is about 5:30 pm in mid- summer). Puzzled I looked around and took a few steps closer to the woods (our woods are about 20 yards away from our front yard so I was not committing a feat of bravery). Now I decided to turn around (totally freaked! ) and go back inside. Another rustling noise began to liven the dead silence. I was officially freaked out so I decided I was going to take one last look and then make a mad dash for the house. I heard a splashing noise followed by the sloshing sounds of what sounded like someone running through water (we have a creek located on the outskirts of the woods which is closest to our house; running through the desolate woods like veins).
I looked up frozen with fear. I saw what appeared to be a giant man. He was about 10 feet tall with thick red hair that covered the giant so that it seemed like an ape. It had a long bushy tail that trailed along behind it. I was (literally) frozen with fear. My knees buckled my legs quivered and tears began to well up in my eyes as I realized ''I am going to die. I cannot hide from something that has direct access to the location of my home.'' I looked at it and saw that it saw me as well. It bellowed and began running back and forth throughout the trees. I saw it stop and look directly at me; I was terrified! Then I regained my strength and ran towards the house at lightning speed. Once I got inside I was out of breath and pale. My mother asked me what's wrong and I told her what had happened she told me I was probably just hallucinating and worked myself up. To this day I will not go out to the woods alone or at night. I am still scared of my woods every time I hear a noise that is even remotely similar to the vicious yet pleading and sad bellow of the giant beast.

When I was about 2, my mother and I went to the grocery store at about 5:30 in the afternoon. I was little and of course had a passion for stuffed animals. I am pretty sure that everyone knows what a crane machine is, well I loved to play those and at such a young age was astonishingly good at it.Well that day my mother played and won me a stuffed dog. When I got in the car, on our way home my mother asked me what my idea of naming him was I automatically responded mien. (I do not necessarily know how it is spelled) well when I got home my mother told my father about my idea of the name.My father at this time was shocked and had nothing to say. He looked at me with huge eyes and asked where I had heard that name from. I looked at him and told him, ''daddy do not be silly it's your old friend's name remember, he plays babies with me all the time.'' (remember I was young) he sat me down and we talked about how he had died in the past. Now to this day I still see him. I have talked to doctors about my situation and he has been known to be my guardian angel. In my spare time I research ghosts or the ''paranormal'' is what I prefer to name them. I have a brother that researches with me because he too has witnessed paranormal encounters such as I. One day I hope others that do not believe understand that ''ghosts'' as they call them are not all bad and are actually real.I am a witness and have been my whole life. I remain to this day a witness as well as my brother. I wish to be encountered more so I will fully be able to understand everything I need to know about the paranormal.P. S I still have the stuffed dog!.

Wow, very strange stories here. My aunts have witnessed the charred lady, and a friend of mine has witnessed the old Confederate soldier walking. Both sightings were reported near old Mexia rd, on hwy 84. I'm going to do some research and some investigating!.
