On 17th Street near morrow, there was a 2 story house that was rumored to be haunted. I was in the house one time (80's) and heard noises that could not be explained. The occupants at the time told stories about a occurrence where overnight the doors would switch positions (from open to close or vise versa) but when it happened, it affected every door in the house except the entry and exit doors of which there were (4) four.

One night my mom and I were driving home to lacy-lakeview along the i-35 frontage road when we noticed a police car slowing in front of us. The officer was either a bellmead or lacy-laveview cop. He turned up into a small dirt road the sharply made another left turn into a small restaurant parking lot.
Well, to shake things up, we thought nothing about the matter until the next day when we headed to shop at Walmart. We both were stunned to see that there was no short, graveled road or restaurant, let alone parking lot.|
I really question if there was even an officer now.

There are several places in the downtown area, that I have encountered ghosts. The creek that runs from north sixth and Jefferson, behind the episcopalian church, under fifth Street, under fourth Street, and empties into the Brazos river. There were five kids playing in the creek one summer afternoon, the sun was going down casting long shadows in the creek. When one of my friends yelled lets get out of here! When we asked why,he stated look what coming from under the fourth stree bridge, we all turn to see this figure dressed all in black coming toward us.We notice that this figure was not wading in the water, it was gliding there were no ripples in the water. We lived on fourth Street, 300 hundred block, the oak tree is still there, one night I am looking after my seven year old brother in back room next to the screen porch. The back door knob started to turn, the door opened, I yelled who is there! The door slammed shut, footsteps where heard, the screen door also slammed shut. I told my brother it was nothing, and he continued playing with his toys, with in thirty minutes the door knob started turning and the door opens again, again I yelled. The back door and the screen porch door were both locked. It's summer time, I am walking home it is about two in the morning and nearing the bridge on fourth Street and as soon as I was over the creek there came this ice cold breeze, the hairs on the back of my neck stood up and as soon as I passed the creek the warm summer breeze returned. another time, it is Sunday night I just left the crystal theater about ten thirty, turn right on to north fifth, approached Columbus Street, crossed the street, I looked to my right I saw nothing but the street light on fourth Street.I was about ten to fifteen feet from the corner I heard footsteps behind me, the footsteps were in step with mine as I approached the creek, I looked over my right shoulder and there was a figure dressed in black.Once I passed the creek, the footsteps stopped, I turned and there was nobody on the street but me. Another time a friend of mine and his girl friend are in churh court yard making out. She is facing the creek and all of a sudden she pushed him away, he falls to the ground. She takes off running and he catches up with her at the bus station, she pale and shaking all over. He asked her what is wrong? She replied did not you see him? See who, he asked, the man that dressed in black that was walking towards them. there are more places in Waco, that have ghosts, the horse that walks from Webster Street turns left on to second Street turns left on Mary steet and then disappears. The haunted house I lived in on the ten hundred block of north fifth Street, the haunted house on the eight hundred block of north twenty third Street.Cameron park, old lake Waco, and around St Francis church there are also ghosts.
