The used car lot on the corner of Ft Worth hwy and Bankhead. In 1989 a service tech waited to close the shop down and was found dead inside the first shop bay sitting inside a car with all doors to the shop and car closed.|
It was ruled suicide by carbon monoxide. Every once in a while you can hear someone inside the shop turning wrenches or working on something is what it sounds like. No physical encounters or anything sinister.

I built a starter home on the east side of Weatherford in the late 1980s on Cherry. Soon after moving into the new home we began to experience odd noises in the attic and walls. I figured it was the popping of the pine wood used in the frame of the home until late one night when the noise in the attic exceeded that of expanding wood. It sounded like a person walking in the attic. At my wife's encouraging I checked out the attic with a flashlight and found nothing there. The noise subsided. After a year in the home my wife left leaving me with an infant child. Soon afterward pictures would fall off the walls in the middle of the night, and I woke a few times with the sound of someone walking in my bedroom only to find myself completely alone. One afternoon in the summer of 1992 I was feeling ill and came home just after lunch finding refuge in my living room recliner when I was startled by a very loud pounding coming from my living room wall. It sounded as if someone was walking along the wall while pounding on it with a sledge hammer. The noise moved along the living room wall into an adjoining bedroom and faded away as it would if the wall just kept going out of ear shot. I immediately looked outside, and no one was there except the 104 degree Texas summer heat.
The strange sounds in the walls continued but never again that dramatic. I began to find items in the house displaced, moved, or lost only to show up again months later sitting mostly on the kitchen counter. One afternoon in the spring time of 1993 I came home to find all my clocks 2 hours behind or 2 hours ahead. I had three watches, and the two in the house were found the same way. I went on a trip to Colorado that same fall and returned on Halloween night to find every window in my house opened. It had rained earlier that morning and rainwater did soak the carpet in a few rooms. On a winter's night in 1994 I awoke to feel very cold air. I got up to find every door in the house wide open with an outside temp in the lower 20s. I was terrified, quickly checking on my four year old son to find him fast asleep in his bed. In the summer of 1994 my girlfriend and I returned home one Saturday afternoon from Fort Worth, and as we walked in the door from the garage we heard the sound of the large mirror in the hall bathroom fall and shatter. An instant investigation found nothing. The mirror was right above the sink where it was supposed to be. This incident really frightened my girlfriend as I had kept the haunting to myself up to that point mostly out of my own denial.
On another night in the springtime of 1994 I had just laid down to go to sleep. It was about 10:30 pm. I had been reading as I always did before I went to sleep. I just turned off the light and pulled the covers up when ''something'' had grabbed my left foot pulling me approximately two feet toward the end of the bed before I got loose and bailed out of the bed into the darkness of the bedroom in utter panic. Standing there in the dark I realized I was in the bathroom entrapped by something I could not see lurking in my bedroom. In a case of fight or flight I ran from the bathroom through the bedroom up the hallway through the living room and out into my front yard. I was in a severe state of psychological panic. Gathering myself and my thoughts I realized I was standing out in my front yard in nothing but my underwear. I knew I had to go back into the house, but I was not sure if what had just occurred was real or not. Knowing that it was meant I would have to find a way to deal with it. I did go back into the dark house... Alone... To sort of face my fear. I turned on every light I could and sat up in the living room right next to the front door (just in case).
