in the middle of it.
In 1985 I camped out there one night by myself. I was 17 and I was never afraid of the dark, plus this was near the police station. So I didn't have any reason to be paranoid about being there by myself at night.
But I started having the very real sensation of being watched, and I had the distinct feeling that I was trespassing on sacred ground. I left. I have no clue as to what the history of that place is but I'm in the process
of obtaining some aerial photos of White Oak.|
I might be able to show what the property looked like back in the day. Take care and god bless.

Comment by Dillon: Hey I live in White Oak and I live on east Bingham and also by the cemetery and when I read your story it made me want to ask if you have like a facebook or twitter that I could add you on. I want to see what the photos look like and see if I could research them or anything about them.
Comment by Lacy: As far as the woods that are currently Taco bell Cherokee trace marker is in front of the Dairy Queen, that feeling of being in a sacred place could be due the Cherokee that had to camp in the area as they were being driven out and to their reservation. I lived in neighborhood behind DQ, and my brother has found Native American pottery in the yard as well as arrowheads.
